Current Role
Lead Technical Artist · Trek Bicycle · Waterloo, WI
Scope: enterprise CAD + PLM ingestion, meshing systems, orchestration, and USD publishing standards for digital twin workflows.
- End-to-end pipeline ownership: designed and operate a production CAD-to-USD pipeline that joins CAD geometry with PLM product definition.
- Deterministic USD assembly authoring: rebuilt production-first USD structures driven by PLM identity, built for reuse and regeneration under revisions.
- Meshing and translation control: operationalized Pixyz as a persistent service with a controller layer to avoid per-task teardown under Deadline.
- Orchestration at scale: use PDG as an execution fabric to compose discrete Python interfaces into repeatable build graphs (retries, caching, batching).
- Downstream readiness: publish USD archives currently consumed in Cinema4D, designed for portability to Unreal, Maya, and other USD-capable consumers.
- Standard setting: established authoring conventions, metadata contracts, and structure rules to support a long-term digital twin foundation.
